Hypothyroid
Main Thyroid hormone are t3and t4.and thyroid gland is controlled by pituitary gland which is located at base if brain and produces thyroid stimulating hormone that is TSH. So, when TSH is released by gland it needs iodine to produce t3and t4.
We talk about sluggish metabolism due to thyroid and loose our battle against fat loss. Tyrosine is a protein that iodine bonds with it to make thyroid hormone. So, again adequate intake of protein with essential amino acid will help in increasing metabolism. So, improve intake of iodine, Government had made our salt iodised to avoid goitre, but these days again we have started using un iodised salt in the name of rock salt.
Some iodine rich foods are banana, carrots, strawberries and milk. Include them in your diet. include whole grains, leafy vegetables, peas.
Avoid cabbage cauliflower, broccoli, all cruciferous vegetables as they deteriorate symptoms.
